meaning-making sessions

counselling for life transitions, identity & belonging

Who am I now? Where do I belong? What matters to me?

If you’re in a season of asking questions like these, and you’d like someone to hold a safe space for you as you process and explore in an unhurried way, with no agenda other than to support you, I’m here.

You’re welcome to book a free chat using the link below. It’s a chance to see whether this feels like the right fit, with no pressure either way.

Meaning-making sessions:

What these sessions are:

Meaning-making sessions are counselling for life transitions, identity and belonging. They’re for the times when something that once anchored you has shifted, like a faith, a relationship, a community or a role, and the old answers don’t fit anymore.

This is a flexible form of Integrative Therapy that goes at your pace, and focuses on what matters to you. I’m trauma-informed, and draw on counselling, psychology, mindfulness and spiritual formation, shaping each session around what you bring. That means paying attention to all of your life: your emotions, thoughts, patterns, behaviours and what’s happening in your body too. Sessions go for 50 minutes.

If spirituality/faith is part of your story, it’s welcome here, in whatever words feel right to you: God / Source / Mystery / the Sacred, or none of these. If these words are difficult or triggering, we can leave them out completely. We can focus instead on your values, or the gap between how your life is now, and the way you’d like it to be. We can work together to help you imagine, and create the kind of life that feels meaningful and nourishing for you now, as the person you have become.

This might be for you if:

  • you’re wondering who you are now, or where you belong

  • you’re between chapters and don’t know what comes next

  • you feel lonely in the in-between and would like someone genuinely interested in your story who won’t try to “fix” you

  • you want to explore what a meaningful, authentic, soul-nourishing life looks like for you

  • your faith has dissolved, evolved, or is somewhere unresolved, and you’re not sure what, if any, relationship with the Sacred you’d like now.

  • you’d like a safe person to support you as you explore what (if any) kind of relationship you might want with the Sacred now

  • your spiritual longings are tangled up with past harm, and you’d like a safe person to explore them with

    A little about me:

I’m a registered counsellor with lived experience of recovering from religious harm. I know how lonely and confusing it can be when meaning shatters and the people, places and practices we used to turn to for help are no longer right for us. It can be hard to find a safe place to rebuild.

No pressure, no assumptions. Just my openness and presence, to help you hear what you’d like your life to be like now, and how to gently start creating it, one step at a time.
